Well last saturday was Sonoma Raceways Winter Jam drift event where some car sliding enthusiast can come out and play pro or not . Unlike pro-am coverage we were unable to completely cover the event due to rain since most equipment we have is borrowed. ANYWAYS…
Well first off lets join behind the scenes of the pit area to view the competitors and the tag along buddies ride bro.
The pits were a mixed bunch of Pro-Am, Formula Drift, Sonoma Drift regulars and some oddball faces you dont see too often. The morning was cold and surfaces were wet evening the playing field for the less power happycars….unfortunately though…….
.
Not everyone is accustomed to slick surfaces resulting with the rain taking some people out of the competition before practice barely got going. Drivers took note an adjusted to the conditions since the track was constantly being dried and coated with water throughout the event.
As you can see in the pictures the floors were slick at times and almost completely dry. I enjoy watching drivers adapt to their environments so quickly with minimal errors as they progress. The solo runs were dam good but THE TANDEMS…LIKE THE TANDEMS…tandems were dam interesting no matter pros or joes.
There were some dam good tandems that unfolded this day. Like I said if the rain wouldnt had been unleashing its wrath from time to time we would have had more pictures but fear not since I will be sharing pictures on facebook to keep it alittle active around the page(s). Now I’m going to dump a few photos of the event here and the podium finshers and whatever pics i i already have watermarked because lazy.
That will be it for this blog entry…..Oh yeah I forgot to mention we released a Winter Jam video earlier in the week so here you go. HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR SINCE THOSE MAYANS WERE FLIPPIN WRONG YO…….i hope.
